Didn't work Feb 06, 2010
Thermostat didn't work. Propagation mat worked fine, but when plugged into the thermostat the thermostat took the correct temperature readings, but despite having the power light on, and the light stating that it was heating, I watched the temperature drop within a matter of 30 minutes after having the mat heated up before plugging it into the thermostat. Almost makes me think I'd be better off spending $10 on a outlet timer from the hardware store and just having turn on periodically to keep the seedlings warm. The other 1 star review was spot on too.

Works like a charm.
Connect the Heat Mat monitor's power cord into the wall, then connect the seedling heat mat into the monitor.
To set the degrees is very easy. Hold down the button "SET" until the numbers are blinking. Then using the up and down arrows, set the desired temperature.
There is a little wire with a plastic white tip that hangs from the monitor.
Push the white part into the soil for temperature reading.(Once temperature is set, do not be alarmed when your heat mat reaches its maximum temperature you set it to then the Heat Mat monitor temperature will go up and down 3 degrees to prevent over heating)

This is very helpful for starting seeds.

Product is rated for 68-108. i did not see that in the spec when purchasing, and when i got it it wouldn't go colder. I wanted something for regulation around 40°F. My bad. Probably need to learn to read. A digital type product, in my humble (Electrical Engineer) opinion, should be able to do a wider range of temperatures.

This producted worked for three days, it showed that it was heating when temp was below set temp, but it was not really heating. I lost several plants that were worth $.
Just be careful, the company is sending a new unit, I have yet to get it. Hopefuly this was just one bad apple per say, in several good ones.
